Shaggy dog - 9/10 Shrimp tempura roll - 8.5/10 La la roll - 9/10 One of the better sushi spots ive tried in town. All the rolls were cooked well and flavorful! I would recommend going during their happy hour They have so many menu items to choose from and also have private karaoke rooms!

This is our favorite place to stop at for Japanese-style food in Houston. Every meal I've had here has been delicious and high quality. I have had the spicy pork bulgogi bento box, the curry rice with pork katsu, and the beef udon soup. The service is top-notch and we've never been met with too long of a wait. We love the decor and calm atmosphere the restaurant provides as well. I'd highly recommend this establishment.

Decided to try this restaurant. It was a phenomenal experience. The food tasted amazing and fresh. The sauces were sweet and tangy, go well with the fish. The staff were friendly, and the restaurant was nice and clean. Highly recommend it!

I wanted to spend a special last day with my daughter before she headed back to college, and Izakaya Hi proved to be the perfect spot for our farewell dinner. We were craving sushi and green tea, and after a quick search on Yelp, we found that Izakaya Hi was conveniently located near our day's excursion. From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding. The staff were attentive and offered great recommendations, enhancing our dining experience with their knowledge and enthusiasm. The sushi selection was impressive, featuring a variety of fresh, well-prepared options that catered to both adventurous and traditional tastes. Every dish we tried was delicious, and the green tea was the perfect complement to our meal. Great food! Enjoyed all the sushi rolls! The spicy Edemame was the best!!! Would definitely recommend to anyone!

We came for dinner around 9pm and sat on the patio with our dog. Unfortunately the patio can be a bit buggy, so I'd suggest eating indoors if coming in the evening. The food was great! As was the reverse happy hour. We ordered two rolls, the takoyaki, and the croquettes. I'd definitely come back to eat inside. The takoyaki I'd probably pass on. Both rolls we got I liked, but would like to try others that they have. The croquettes were good too, but I'd rather have it with something like a Japanese curry sauce rather than the more Worcestershirey sauce that they offer. Definitely a great option for a reverse happy hour!!

One of our go to spots for sushi. The inside vibes are really nice, and they are probably one of the very few places who have Karoake and sushi (I haven't tried their Karoake rooms, but I imagine they are nice given how the main restaurant area looks). Food wise it is always good. I usually get my favorite roll here, which is Shaggy Dog, but I tried the Viking Roll w/o avocado recently and that one was really good to. We also got shrimp chips, which you can only find on their online menu but got it also in the restaurant and those were amazing. Recommend this spot if you are looking for a good sushi place on Westheimer.

So glad we decided to try this place out. Our server was great. The environment was clean, ambiance was nice and felt relaxed. Food was amazing! We ordered the stuffed crab wontons for appetizer and 3 rolls for dinner. We tried the Shrek roll, crunch California, and hungry roll. All tasted so good and fresh! All the rolls on their menu sounded good and definitely going to try the fried rice next time we go. The couple next to us received a plate and it looked so good from afar.

I love finding local spots that just have good food. One of the great things about this place is I don't have to fight traffic to go into town for Japanese good. This is a great place to just help that craving. Another great thing about this place is the variety of food they have. Outside of their sushi, they have a plethora of dishes for those who may not be the biggest sushi enthusiast but want to still join their friends. I went there for lunch and actually ordered the omurice which was quite delicious. The portion was huge and lasted me for 3 meals! I will notate that this is not the pocket egg omurice, but more of the flower/twister style for the egg. The rice was a bit stew-y which I love, but some may say it's a bit too much liquid. I also ordered the takoyaki as an appetizer which wasn't too bad. They also have bento boxes which our table ordered and that was a good deal as well since they give you a lot of protein. The service was pretty great. They were attentive and friendly. Overall they got our orders and food out in a timely manner. The atmosphere was also nice for lunch. There were people there but it didn't feel stuffy or too crowded. The noise level was appropriate as well. They also have an outside patio if it's a nice day and you want to sit outside. I also always appreciate their large parking lot, so you don't have to fight for a spot.
